Job summary

Itron, Inc. seeks a Principal, AI Security Architecture & Engineering to drive secure AI adoption across the enterprise.

This senior leader will set architecture standards, governance, and operational practices for AI, ML, and autonomous agents, partnering with Security, Legal, Privacy, Engineering, and product teams. The role emphasizes threat modeling, risk assessments, and secure-by-design delivery, with a focus on protecting customers, data, and intellectual property while advancing AI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years in cybersecurity, security architecture, cloud security, or related discipline.
2+ years with AI-enabled systems, ML environments, or generative AI tech.

Responsibilities

Define and lead the enterprise AI security strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap.
Design security controls across AI/agent lifecycles, including identity governance and memory isolation.
Establish guardrails for generative AI platforms, APIs, plugins, and automation workflows.
Embed secure-by-design principles across AI development, deployment, and operations.
Lead AI-focused threat modeling, security reviews, and risk assessments for solutions.
