Deckers Brands is seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Engineering to lead the enterprise AI engineering capability.

You will own a platform that provides governed access to foundation models, reusable patterns, and production-ready AI applications across internal and customer-facing use cases. You will mentor AI engineers, coordinate with security, privacy, and data teams, and drive responsible AI policies, guardrails, and governance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in software, data, or ML engineering building production systems.
• 3–5+ years leading engineering teams in cloud-native environments.
• 3+ years delivering production AI or ML systems, including 2+ years building generative AI or LLM apps.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise AI platform, including governed access to foundation models and cost controls.
• Define reusable AI engineering patterns for retrieval augmented generation and agents.
• Lead evaluation framework for AI systems, incl. offline/online quality monitoring and release criteria.
• Deliver AI applications into production across customer-facing and internal use cases.
• Manage operational quality for production AI systems, incl. latency, availability, and cost per interaction.
