Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Engineering to lead our enterprise AI platform and govern the deployment of foundation models, RAG patterns, and LLM applications.

You’ll drive production readiness, safety controls, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced, global environment. The role demands 8–12 years of software/ML experience, 3–5+ years of leadership in cloud environments, and strong knowledge of AI evaluation and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–12 years building production software/data/ML systems.
• 3–5+ years leading cloud-native engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise AI platform with governance and cost controls.
• Define reusable AI engineering patterns for RAG, agents, and orchestration.
• Lead evaluation framework including offline/online quality monitoring and release criteria.
• Deliver AI applications from PoC to governed production across internal and customer use cases.
• Ensure production readiness, latency, availability, and cost management for AI systems.
