Job summary

D-Wave Quantum Inc. is seeking a Staff AI Platform Developer to lead the architecture and development of internal AI tooling across the company.

You will build practical tools using LLMs, agents, RAG, and workflow automation, ensuring security, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness while enabling internal teams to work faster. You'll collaborate with Product Development to deliver AI-powered solutions that boost productivity, quality, security, and job satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 7+ years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience with the LLM application stack: prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Drive adoption of AI capabilities across Product Development teams.
• Lead architecture and implementation of internal AI solutions (LLM apps, agents, RAG, workflow automation).
• Build prototypes and production services integrating with internal systems (GitHub, Jira, Slack, docs, service desks).
• Design guardrails for data handling, access control, prompt safety, audit logging, and cost tracking.
• Transition AI solutions to product teams for long-term ownership and support.
• Document patterns and best practices for consistent AI-enabled tools.
