Job summary

Wondr Health is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build and evolve enterprise AI systems and an agent platform. You will work on memory, orchestration, tool use, safety, and observability, shipping production AI solutions and automation for engineering workflows in a fully remote setup.

The role emphasizes production systems, real-world challenges, and collaboration with a small, high-trust team. Strong backend and AI tooling experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of solid backend engineering experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production LLM/agent systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation methods, including automated evals, LLM-as-a-judge, and regression testing.
• Experience with RAG pipelines: vector databases and embedding strategies.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience building safety and reliability mechanisms for LLM systems.
• Strong communication skills and systems-thinking mindset.
• Operate production agent systems with observability and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain LLM agent systems using AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and LangSmith.
• Build core agent capabilities: tool use, knowledge retrieval, and onboarding flows.
• Develop and improve memory and context systems for long-running interactions.
• Evolve multi-agent and sub-agent systems with explicit state and orchestration.
• Implement safety-focused flows: guardrails, escalation routing, and fail-safes.
• Create AI automation tools for engineering workflows (code review, testing, CI/CD).
• Promote agentic development practices and AI-assisted workflows across the team.
• Ensure end-to-end tracing and observability of requests and tool calls.
