Job summary

Quanata, LLC is a remote-first insurance tech company seeking a Staff Security Engineer to secure AI-enabled systems across LLM apps, RAG pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. You will partner with engineering, product, and security teams to embed security into design and development, with hands-on leadership and architecture responsibilities.

The role focuses on threat modeling, secure design reviews, and building scalable security patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in full‑stack security, product security, application security, cloud security, DevSecOps, infrastructure security, or software engineering with security responsibilities.
• 5+ years of experience with AI/GenAI security in production environments.
• Proven experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modeling, secure design reviews, code/config reviews, and risk assessments.
• Experience evaluating and securing third‑party SaaS platforms, AI tools, model providers, developer tools, APIs, integrations, and vendor‑managed services.

Responsibilities

• Embed security into AI‑enabled products, internal apps, APIs, services, and platforms throughout their lifecycle.
• Lead threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and risk assessments for LLM apps, RAG pipelines, and third‑party tools.
• Define and implement secure AI engineering patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures across IAM, data protection, logging, and incident readiness.
• Strengthen AWS‑native infrastructure and CI/CD environments, including IaC, container security, and software supply chain controls.
• Develop practical security guidance and enablement materials for teams to use AI safely.
