Job summary

Sandisk in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Sr AI/ML Performance Architect to develop high-performance SystemC/TLM models for the next-generation HBF AI Storage Solutions. You will span ASIC architecture, AI/ML workloads, memory systems, and system-level performance engineering to evaluate architectural choices before silicon implementation.

You will work with GPU/TPU/NPUs, characterize training and inference workloads, and drive design-space exploration with rigorous performance metrics and regression

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD degree in computer, electrical engineering or computer science.
• Strong SystemC/TLM 2.0, C/C++ and OO software design experience.
• Deep understanding of computer architecture including NoC, memory hierarchy, DMA and high‑bandwidth I/O.
• Ability to model architecture timing, concurrency, bandwidth, latency and bottlenecks.
• Experience building performance models for AI/ML accelerators and datacenter ASICs.

Responsibilities

• Develop SystemC/TLM 2.0 models for HBF ASICs and AI storage solutions.
• Model ASIC subsystems (NoC, PCIe, CXL, memory controllers, DMA, etc.).
• Create configurable modeling infrastructure for design-space exploration.
• Characterize AI/ML and LLM workloads (training/inference, MoE, KV cache).
• Analyze GPU/TPU/xPU performance vs HBF accelerators.
• Collaborate with ASIC architects to evaluate alternative microarchitectures.
• Develop metrics, traces, and visualization for bottleneck analysis.
• Correlate SystemC models with RTL/silicon measurements.
