Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Cyber Threat Defense Sr AI/ML Engineer to integrate advanced AI/ML into the cyber defense ecosystem. The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, focusing on threat hunting, anomaly detection, and automated incident response at scale.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of ML experience, strong Python and ML framework skills, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity, governance, and responsible AI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on ML engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch or scikit-learn)
• Experience building LLM-powered applications and agentic AI systems
• Production-scale data pipelines, MLOps, and automation
• Experience with enterprise cloud AI platforms
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and model risk
• Strong communication/presentation skills; degree in CS or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI-powered capabilities for threat hunting and automated incident response
• Develop custom ML models and LLM workflows for cybersecurity use cases
• Match techniques to problem structure and risk profile
• Build LLM-based tooling to enhance analyst effectiveness
• Collaborate with GIS teams to enhance security controls with AI
• Prototype emerging AI technologies for cyber threat detection
• Mentor engineers and advise leadership on AI cybersecurity initiatives
