Job summary

EY’s Challenger Core is seeking a senior architect to lead knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities for AI products and agents. You will design federated organizational memory, ensure provenance and policy compliance, and drive lighthouse implementations from prototype through production across diverse enterprise data sources.

You will collaborate with domain experts to shape concepts, define interfaces, and establish scalable, trustworthy patterns that enable differentiated experiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• 9-12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data, information, solution, or platform architecture, including ownership of production AI, search, or knowledge systems.
• Enterprise delivery: a record of delivering a shared knowledge, search, graph, or grounded-AI capability across varied sources and organizational boundaries.
• Hands-on technical depth: fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies, SQL, and a general-purpose programming language.
• Data integration: pipelines connecting analytical, document, event, and operational information with clear production controls.
• Policy-aware architecture: access, provenance, quality, and lifecycle controls through the production retrieval path.
• Architecture judgment: prototypes and operational evidence to make sound trade-offs.
• Cross-functional leadership: guiding decisions and mentoring across teams.
• Travel and On-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office capability.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction. Own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding for AI.
• Design organizational memory with a federated approach and shared meaning.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and boundaries for AI interpretation.
• Engineer trusted ingestion and reusable patterns preserving authority, lineage, and provenance.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph, and structured methods.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, quality signals, and evaluation hooks.
• Embed policy in the path by aligning with security, privacy, records, and legal teams.
• Lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production to prove scale.
• Define service objectives, observability, and quality measures post-launch.
• Build shared capability and mentor engineers while guiding architecture decisions.
