Job summary

EY is seeking a senior architect to shape the knowledge foundation for AI products and agents. You will own architecture, decision principles, and a federated memory approach that respects domain ownership while ensuring durable interfaces and lifecycle controls.

You will lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production, establishing scalable patterns for retrieval, grounding, and explainability. A strong background in data/semantic systems and cross‑functional leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Ownership of production AI, search, or knowledge systems.
• Experience delivering shared knowledge or grounded‑AI capabilities.
• Fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies; strong SQL; general‑purpose programming language.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction. Own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding for AI products and agents.
• Design organizational memory with a federated approach and clear lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and boundaries AI systems need to interpret.
• Engineer trusted ingestion and preserve authority, lineage, and uncertainty.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph, and structured methods with trade‑offs visible.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, and quality signals.
• Embed policy by partnering with security, privacy, records, and legal teams on enforceable requirements.
• Prove the architecture by leading lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Operate and improve with service objectives, observability, and post‑launch learning.
• Build shared capability by creating reference components and mentoring engineers.
