Job summary

Prologis seeks an Senior AI Applied Engineer to lead enterprise AI initiatives across the Prologis platform, shaping scalable patterns and architectures. You will design timeboxed pilots, evaluate results, and translate findings into reference implementations with the Central AI team.

You will leverage Python, AWS, and modern LLM tooling to advance agentic workflows and text-to-SQL patterns, communicating value to technical and business stakeholders and de-risking complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-quality systems.
• Expert Python skills with clean architecture, testing, packaging, performance and reliability.
• Strong AWS architecture and development experience with security/IAM, networking, serverless/containers, monitoring and cost controls.
• Solid data foundations: SQL, data modeling, APIs/integration patterns; familiarity with RAG and text-to-SQL.
• Rigorous experimentation: hypothesis-driven approach, evaluation plans, metrics and timeboxing.
• Excellent communication to technical and business stakeholders; proven storytelling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLM evaluations, tool use, memory strategies, multi-agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with modern LLM stacks and portability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI innovation and rapid experimentation to advance Prologis capabilities.
• Design and run timeboxed pilots with clear hypotheses and success metrics.
• Evolve enterprise AI patterns (RAG, text-to-SQL, evaluation/observability, guardrails).
• Build reference implementations and handoff docs for scalable architectures.
• Develop within AWS using secure, observable architectures and strong engineering practices.
• Communicate results through demos and readouts linking tech to business value.
• Support priority projects with clear entry/exit criteria and risk mitigation.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and vendor capabilities for actionable recommendations.
