Job summary

Prologis in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Senior AI Applied Engineer to explore and scale enterprise AI patterns. You will design hypothesis-driven pilots, evaluate results, and translate findings into reference architectures and next steps.

You’ll collaborate with AI platform and delivery teams to turn experiments into scalable solutions. Expect to drive innovation in retrieval-augmented generation, text-to-SQL, and AI safety; contribute to end-to-end architectures within AWS, and communicate

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-quality systems.
• Expert Python skills with clean architecture, testing, packaging.
• Strong AWS architecture and development experience (security/IAM, networking, serverless/containers).
• Strong data foundations: SQL, data modeling; APIs/integration; familiarity with RAG and text-to-SQL.
• Demonstrated rigor in experimentation: hypothesis-driven, metrics, timeboxing.
• Ability to communicate clearly to technical and business stakeholders; storytelling and influence through results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience designing and interpreting LLM evaluations (faithfulness, hallucination analysis, cost/latency).
• Familiarity with modern LLM stacks and portability considerations.
• Hands-on experience with agentic systems and reliability/evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI innovation and rapid experimentation to advance Prologis capabilities.
• Design and execute timeboxed pilots with hypotheses, metrics, and kill/scale points.
• Enhance enterprise AI patterns (retrieval-augmented generation, text-to-SQL, observability).
• Build reference implementations and handoff docs for scalable architectures.
• Develop within the AWS ecosystem with secure, observable architectures.
• Communicate results through demos and readouts linking outcomes to business value.
• Support priority project work with clear entry/exit criteria.
• Synthesize external AI tool trends into actionable recommendations.
