Job summary

Credence is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-driven solutions for federal clients. You will lead generative AI and agentic AI initiatives, collaborate across engineering, data, cloud, and mission stakeholders, and mentor engineers to raise engineering practices and maintain secure, scalable systems.

In this role you will drive end-to-end AI development lifecycles, implement tool/function calling, and ensure responsible innovation with measurable

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering in AI/ML or LLM-based production
• Experience delivering generative AI applications and tool calling
• Experience designing agentic AI solutions and frameworks
• Strong knowledge of AI APIs and platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock, Vertex AI)
• Proficient in TypeScript; familiar with Nx/Next.js and Vercel AI SDK
• Python proficiency with libraries like Pydantic, FastAPI, LangChain
• Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI) and AI tooling extensions
• Excellent communication skills and client-oriented mindset
• Familiarity with Terraform, Open Tofu, AWS CDK or CloudFormation (IaC)
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, FedRAMP) and secure development

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of AI-powered capabilities using generative AI and LLMs
• Own end-to-end agentic AI development lifecycles
• Apply strong software engineering principles for scalable, secure systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into AI solutions
• Automate deployment via IaC, CI/CD, containers, and cloud services
• Monitor and optimize AI systems for reliability and performance
• Document code and architecture to support reproducible development
• Mentor engineers and contribute to reusable standards
