United Future is seeking a Senior Women’s Technical Outerwear Designer in New York to lead design across technical and performance outerwear categories. You will translate design concepts into technically sound jackets and collaborate with production teams and overseas partners to optimize costs while preserving quality.

The role requires a strong portfolio, deep jacket engineering knowledge, and the ability to integrate AI into the design workflow to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on Women’s Outerwear design experience in performance/outdoor tech products.
• Deep knowledge of jacket engineering and construction.
• Strong knowledge of women’s fit, proportion, silhouette and fabrication.
• Ability to merge technical functionality with feminine design and commercial appeal.
• Portfolio demonstrating substantial Women’s Outerwear experience with technical construction.

Responsibilities

• Own the creative direction and development of Women’s technical and performance outerwear categories.
• Produce technical drawings, detailed tech packs and garment construction details.
• Select materials, insulation systems and trims based on product needs.
• Develop silhouettes balancing fit and technical performance with a feminine, commercial aesthetic.
• Monitor marketplace with trend and competitive research; translate into opportunities.
• Collaborate with Production teams and overseas manufacturing partners for costing and cost optimization.
• Find cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality, functionality and design intent.
• Incorporate AI-powered technology into daily design and development processes.
• Research and evaluate new AI design technologies and tools for process improvement.
• Maintain communication with Merchandising, Production and overseas factories throughout lifecycle.
