Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Senior Women's Technical Outerwear Designer with 7+ years in women's outerwear, especially performance and technical apparel, to lead concepts through production. The role emphasizes AI-driven design, technical construction, and collaboration with global manufacturing partners in New York.

You will own tech packs, select materials, and translate design intent into commercially viable jackets while balancing fit, function, and cost.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Women's Outerwear design experience
• significant exposure to technical, outdoor and performance products
• understanding of jacket engineering and construction
• Strong knowledge of women's fit, proportion, silhouette, fabrication, insulation and functional components
• merge technical functionality with feminine design and commercial appeal
• strong understanding of cost engineering and ability to collaborate with manufacturing partners to achieve target costs
• Strong commercial and market awareness with ability to identify opportunities through trend, consumer and competitive research
• forward-thinking approach to technology, including AI into the creative and product-development process
• AI proficiency is required
• Portfolio must demonstrate substantial Women's Outerwear experience with examples of technical construction, fit, fabrication and completed products

Responsibilities

• Own the creative direction and development of assigned Women's technical and performance outerwear categories
• Produce technical drawings, detailed tech packs and garment construction details
• Select and apply appropriate outerwear materials, insulation systems and functional trims
• Develop silhouettes balancing women's fit and proportion with technical performance
• Monitor the marketplace through trend, consumer and competitive research
• Work with Production teams and overseas manufacturing partners to evaluate costing and identify cost optimization
• Find cost efficiencies while ensuring product quality, functionality, performance and design intent
• Incorporate AI-powered technology into the design and development process
• Research and evaluate new AI design technologies to improve outerwear design
• Maintain ongoing communication with Merchandising, Production and overseas factories
