Job summary

Samsara is hiring a Senior Data/AI Engineer to join the Marketing Data and Analytics Engineering team. You will architect core Databricks pipelines, build the Gold Layer, and shape semantic models that power segmentation, targeting, automation, and analytics.

You will translate ambiguous questions into scalable data solutions, lead cross-team data initiatives end to end, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled data products while upholding our customer-centric values.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/analytics engineering or AI engineering.
• Expert Python and SQL with data modeling and DBT experience.
• Experience with data warehouses and lakehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA's data and AI foundation.
• Architect marketing data infrastructure: ETL/ELT, Databricks Gold Layer, data models.
• Design semantic layers and documentation for self-serve BI and AI ingestion.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into scalable data solutions; work autonomously.
• Lead cross-team data pipelines end to end; ensure data quality.
• Mentor engineers and analysts; review AI-generated output.
• Drive AI initiatives to build AI-enabled data products and agents.
• Automate workflows with AI across Marketing and GTM teams.
• Ship Python and SQL code with responsible AI practices.
• Embed Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale.
