Job summary

Samsara is seeking a senior data/AI engineer to build the data foundation powering AI and self-serve analytics. You will architect Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models to enable trusted, scalable insights across Marketing, Sales, and Product.

You will lead complex data initiatives, mentor engineers, and champion AI-enabled data products, while ensuring reliability and data quality across global teams and remote offices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/AI engineering with hands-on data engineering.
• Expert-level Python and SQL with data modeling.
• Experience with data warehouses and the modern data stack.
• Experience shipping and monitoring LLM/agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Define MDA data/AI roadmap and drive multi-quarter plans.
• Architect data infrastructure: ETL/ELT, Databricks Gold Layer, semantic models.
• Design semantic layers and consistent data dictionaries for AI ingestion.
• Lead cross-team data initiatives end to end.
• Mentor engineers and analysts; ensure data quality.
