Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Conversational Designer to shape how customers interact with AI across our Go-to-Market experiences. You will craft conversations that enable AI-powered support, commerce, and engagement, helping customers achieve goals through natural language, multimodal interactions, and intelligent agents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing digital product experiences, including 3+ years in conversational/AI contexts.
• Hands-on experience designing conversational experiences for AI assistants, copilots, or chat interactions.
• Strong understanding of conversation design, dialogue architecture, and information architecture.
• Experience designing for large language model (LLM) applications, including prompt iteration and AI behavior design.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, intuitive customer experiences.
• Experience collaborating with UX, Product, Developers, Research, Data Science, and ML teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-disciplinary influence.
• Portfolio demonstrating conversation design, systems thinking, and measurable impact.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping new interaction patterns as AI evolves.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end conversational experiences for AI assistants and agentic workflows across GTM experiences.
• Create natural language interactions to help customers discover products, complete transactions, and resolve issues.
• Develop conversation flows, prompts, agent instructions, clarification strategies, and escalation paths across multimodal interfaces.
• Collaborate with UX designers to integrate conversations with visual interfaces for cohesive experiences.
• Define scalable conversation design frameworks, voice/tone guidance, and reusable interaction models.
• Work with Product, Developers, Research, Data Science, ML, and Platform teams to shape AI behavior across Autodesk GTM ecosystem.
• Prototype, test, and iterate using customer research, usability testing, analytics, and experimentation to improve success and satisfaction.
• Craft experiences that clearly communicate AI intent, confidence, progress, recommendations, and outcomes.
• Contribute to conversation design systems, governance docs, and best practices for scalable AI experiences.
• Mentor designers and cross-functional partners to raise design quality across the organization.
• Stay current on AI advances and translate capabilities into practical customer-facing experiences.
• Use storytelling to explain design decisions and align with partners and leadership.
