Job summary

Chime is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build Jade, an AI-powered financial assistant, spanning design of agent capabilities to evaluation pipelines. You will work across backend and frontend components, shipping high-scale features with reliability and guardrails.

You'll contribute to model routing, prompt management, and system observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet member needs and scale with the product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience in production environments.
• Proficiency with AI tooling and AI native development.
• Proficiency with Python or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with transactional databases (e.g., Postgres) and caching systems (e.g., Redis).
• Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems.
• Strong focus on writing maintainable, well-tested code.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale new capabilities for Jade, Chime's AI-powered financial assistant.
• Develop agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns that shape Jade's reasoning and actions.
• Build eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems for safe, fast shipping.
• Partner cross-functionally to solve member pain points and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Improve system reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements.
• Contribute to technical design and maintain high standards across the codebase through reviews and mentorship.
• Demonstrate curiosity and initiative to explore and improve systems.
