Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks engineers to drive design, requirements development, and lab-based testing of avionics systems. You will develop test scripts, execute flight test scenarios, and coordinate across multiple subsystems to validate performance.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with at least 3 years), and hands-on IMA experience at the system level. Do‑254/178/160 knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Hands‑on Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) experience at system level required.
• Strong understanding of avionics, aircraft systems and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design and requirements development activities.
• On-site testing in lab environments with schedule flexibility during test phases.
• Develop and execute test scripts and scenarios for robustness and unintended behavior tests.
• Troubleshoot and report issues; provide status updates.
• Coordinate across subsystems to integrate SW/HW work packages and avionics features.
