Job summary

RTX seeks a Mission Systems Senior Engineering Manager to lead a mixed team of 12–15 software, systems, and hardware test engineers in Cedar Rapids. You will hire, mentor, and evaluate staff, deliver performance reviews, and manage cross-functional projects with EVMS oversight.

The role requires a Secret security clearance, STEM background with extensive experience, and occasional travel. On-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience in EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
• Experience in leadership roles and presenting to leadership/peers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 12–15 software, systems and hardware test engineers.
• Provide hiring, mentoring, and performance reviews; plan salaries and staff development.
• Manage budgets, facilities, equipment, and project plans; ensure QA and performance targets.
