Job summary

Xometry is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Engineer to support Sales with aerospace and defense engineering expertise. The role blends customer engagement, technical acumen, and project management, reporting to the Pre-Sales Engineering group.

Responsibilities include partner work with Account Executives, handling major projects, and occasional on-site visits. A strong background in CNC machining and regulatory compliance is essential, with 25–35% travel expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of aerospace and defense engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience using Xometry's services from a customer perspective.
• Familiarity with major aerospace/defense manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of drawings and GDT.
• Experience in CNC machining.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100d, ITAR, NIST compliance.
• Excellent communication and remote work capability.
• Ability to travel 25-35% to customer/partner sites.
• Home time zone preferred (Mountain or Pacific).
• Experience with Salesforce CRM.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to drive account growth and retention.
• Discover, illuminate, digest, organize and execute major projects.
• Join Account Executives in onsite visits with customers when appropriate.
• Proactively identify and address potential manufacturing challenges (including DFM).
• Stay informed about upcoming customer projects and initiatives to ensure alignment with Xometry's capabilities.
• Gather customer insights and feedback to inform sales strategies.
• Assist Pre-Sales Engineering with knowledge gathering, digestion, and assembling quotes.
• Combine customer knowledge, partner knowledge, and Xometry system knowledge to address needs.
• Provide project management and oversight on complex opportunities.
