Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Senior Managing Engineer for its Vehicle Engineering Practice with ADAS/AVs expertise. The role involves leading projects, growing the practice, managing client relationships, and directing testing programs across multiple locations including Irvine and Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in mechanical/mechatronics/automotive engineering or related field.
• 8+ years' experience in ADAS, AVs, and/or vehicle safety, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Authorized to work in the United States with no sponsorship required.
• Ability to leverage client base or industry connections for new business.
• Ability to manage client relationships effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to present technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
• Leadership experience and mentoring juniors.
• Hands-on field/lab measurement experience.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects from initiation to completion and communicating progress to clients and team.
• Developing and growing the Vehicle Engineering Practice with new business and projects.
• Developing and managing client relationships.
• Conducting project and cost management on casework.
• Setting up and executing various test programs including full-scale vehicle tests and component evaluations.
• Continuing to develop specialized automotive expertise and testing capabilities.
• Mentoring junior consulting staff.
