Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Managing Engineer with ADAS/AV expertise for our Vehicle Engineering Practice in Phoenix, Natick, or Menlo Park. Lead consulting projects, mentor staff, and drive new business while ensuring rigorous testing and regulatory alignment across automotive technologies.

The role requires a MS/PhD in a relevant engineering field and 5+ years in ADAS/AVs, with US work authorization and willingness to travel for client engagements.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in ADAS, automated vehicles (AVs), and/or vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required.
• Ability to leverage industry connections to generate new business and projects.
• Manage and foster strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects from initiation to completion; communicate updates to team, clients, and staff; ensure deadlines and high-quality work; identify business opportunities.
• Developing and growing the Vehicle Engineering Practice by generating new business and projects.
• Developing and managing client relationships.
• Mentoring and providing project work for junior staff.
• Handling project and cost management on casework.
• Setting up and executing test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests and component evaluations.
• Continue to develop specialized expertise in automotive technology.
