Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Senior Actuary to lead the P&C capital performance framework within Enterprise Risk Management. You will apply actuarial judgment to connect underwriting performance, pricing, and capital metrics to enterprise decisions and collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, and business leaders.

You will document assumptions, methods, and data sources, and present recommendations to senior leadership. This role can be staffed fully remote across the lower 48 states.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of actuarial experience in P&C or related insurance financial risk.
• FCAS designation or progress toward FCAS preferred; equivalent P&C actuarial and financial-risk experience considered.
• Strong understanding of P&C actuarial methods and insurance business, including pricing, reserving, and target returns.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior P&C actuarial expert for target returns, capital analytics, and performance.
• Enhance the capital monitoring and reporting framework to support deployment decisions.
• Document assumptions, methods, data sources clearly for executive audiences.
• Present cohesive actuarial findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including regulators and auditors.
