Qualifikationen

• Six or more years of actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate complex issues and recommend solutions.
• Experience with actuarial models and interpreting results; AXIS or MG-ALFA experience preferred.
• Deep product knowledge in a single product line (e.g., annuities) and/or breadth across multiple insurance products.
• Clear and effective communication translating actuarial, capital, and risk concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, curious, and able to navigate ambiguity and drive progress with incomplete information.
• FSA designation is preferred.

Nationwide Financial is seeking a Senior Actuary to join its Actuarial Enterprise Risk Management team. This high-visibility role will support Capital reporting, forecasting and risk management through initiatives that leverage Nationwide's balance sheet across a broad portfolio of insurance products.

About the Role

Capital and Product Expertise: Analyze results across all NF product segments, evaluating from both regulatory and rating agency perspectives to inform decision-making.

Visibility with Leadership: Present capital results and strategic capital initiatives directly to senior leaders, influencing key business conversations.

What You'll Do

• Lead quarterly statutory capital reporting and forecasting, delivering accurate results and actionable insights.
• Support key strategic initiatives, including reserving methodology changes, scenario generator updates, captive reinsurance structures, and other high-priority actuarial projects.
• Partner with actuarial teams across NF to align modeling approaches and assumptions impacting the forecast.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of capital reporting and forecasting.
• Present technical actuarial findings to senior leaders and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, both within and outside of actuarial, to support enterprise priorities.
• Provide matrix leadership and guidance to a rotation student and help advance the capabilities of the broader team.

What We're Looking For

• Six or more years of actuarial experience.
