Job summary

Nationwide Financial is seeking a Senior Actuary to join its Actuarial Enterprise Risk Management team. The role supports capital reporting, forecasting, and risk management across NF's product portfolio.

The position offers remote work within the United States and high-visibility exposure to senior leadership. You will lead quarterly statutory capital reporting, support strategic initiatives, and collaborate with actuarial teams to align modeling approaches.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate complex issues and recommend solutions.
• Experience with actuarial models and interpreting results; AXIS or MG-ALFA experience preferred.
• Deep product knowledge in a single product line (e.g., annuities) and/or breadth across multiple insurance products.
• Clear and effective communication translating actuarial, capital, and risk concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, curious, and able to navigate ambiguity and drive progress with incomplete information.
• FSA designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic direction for data compilation, categorization, and financial reporting.
• Constructs sophisticated testing tools and analyzes product calculations.
• Leads strategies for pricing and product implementation.
• Builds and maintains Actuarial, Projection & Valuation Models.
• Analyzes risks and reinsurance for lines of business.
• Establishes reserves and other valuation items under multiple scenarios.
