Job summary

Protective is seeking an experienced actuary to lead pricing, reserving, reinsurance, and risk governance for APD’s asset protection products including VSC, GAP, and related offerings. The role drives profitability, regulatory reporting, and enterprise risk management with senior-level exposure across products and markets.

The position requires 10+ years in P&C actuarial leadership, ACAS, and familiarity with extended warranties.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible actuarial experience in P&C, specialty, or asset protection.
• ACAS required; FCAS preferred.
• Experience with extended warranty, service contract, GAP, or similar protection products.
• Reinsurance and loss portfolio monitoring experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent actuarial and risk oversight for asset protection products; establish credibility as the independent actuarial voice.
• Oversee pricing strategy and performance; challenge models, assumptions and data quality; strengthen governance.
• Partner with Product, Underwriting, Finance, and other functions on risk selection, new products, governance, and portfolio trends.
• Monitor in-force performance and recommend actions to improve outcomes or rebalance risk.
• Lead actuarial support for reinsurance strategy and capital impact considerations.
• Lead reserve adequacy assessments and contribute to solvency, stress testing, and M&A analyses.
• Own property & casualty actuarial and regulatory reporting; ensure timely, compliant reporting.
• Engage Pricing Committees and senior stakeholders with portfolio insights and actionable recommendations.
• Build and lead a high-performance actuarial organization with integrity and accountability.
