Job summary

Assurity, based in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks a Vice President & Actuary, Product Management to lead a team of five actuarial associates across life, annuity, disability income and supplemental health lines. The role focuses on product development, pricing, and ongoing performance across individual and worksite distribution.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of actuarial experience in pricing and leadership, with strong communication and strategic skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ years actuarial experience in pricing, product development, and leadership.
• Experience teaching, coaching, and mentoring actuaries.
• Deep expertise in pricing, modeling, profitability analysis.
• Familiarity with predictive analytics and data science.
• Strong actuarial judgment with decision-making under uncertainty.
• Strategic thinking with focus on mission and profitability.
• Knowledge of life, disability, or supplemental health insurance.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder partnership.
• Leadership ability to develop people and manage performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related.

Responsibilities

• Lead product actuarial work for pricing and development across life and disability lines.
• Set pricing methodologies, governance, and profitability expectations.
• Direct pricing models and analyses to assess profitability and risk.
• Translate concepts into actuarial specs, rates, and policy values.
• Provide clear actuarial conclusions to senior leadership.
• Oversee product portfolio performance reviews and experience studies.
• Lead external engagements with regulators and reinsurers.
• Mentor and develop actuarial associates; foster high performance.
• Ensure compliance with Actuarial Standards and governance.
• Oversee illustration standards for non-guaranteed elements.
