Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Thermal Engineer to lead the design and development of active thermal components for the MK1 Lunar Lander, from concept through flight operations. You will work within the Lunar Permanence unit on tools like radiators, pumps, valves, and coldplates, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust thermal performance.

The role requires a B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years in thermal engineering, with strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD software; Creo preferred.
• Demonstrated experience building and testing thermal hardware.
• Knowledge of aerospace hardware verification and validation process.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of module and vehicle level active thermal components and assemblies through development and flight operations.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to mature designs.
• Produce specifications, test plans, and test reports.
• Analyze thermal performance using a range of methods from hand calculations to Thermal Desktop.
• Develop short- and long-term development plans; decide make or buy for components.
