Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Thermal Engineer to lead the design and development of passive thermal systems for the MK1 Lunar Lander. You will work across disciplines to mature designs, develop test plans, and deliver robust thermal hardware for spaceflight missions.

The role requires strong fundamentals in thermal design, hands-on testing experience, and the ability to produce clear documentation and test reports in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 8 years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
• Expertise in thermal design fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience building and testing thermal hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop module and vehicle level passive thermal assemblies from conception through development and flight operations.
• Support internal or external development of passive thermal components and assemblies.
• Work with multi-discipline product teams to mature module and vehicle designs.
• Collaborate closely with the thermal analysis group.
• Produce outputs including component specifications, test plans, and test reports.
• Analyze component and assembly thermal performance using a broad spectrum of analysis techniques.
• Develop short-term and long-term development plans.
• Make decisions on make or buy for thermal components.
