Job summary

Kahana Feld is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the firm’s accounts payable operations, including vendor invoice processing, payment administration, reconciliations, and related financial controls.

This role leads and develops the AP team, maintains internal controls, and works with attorneys, administrative departments, and Finance to ensure expenses are accurate, approved, paid on time, and properly recorded.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounts payable experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system, such as Aderant, preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, accurate coding, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate payment runs and vendor inquiries while maintaining proper approvals and segregation of duties.
• Maintain vendor records and oversee AP controls for setup and payment instructions.
• Reconcile AP records and support month-end/year-end close, accruals, audits, and Form 1099 prep.
• Supervise and develop AP staff, set priorities, and monitor performance.
