Job summary

Ledgebrook Insurance, LLC. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the growing Accounting team.

This role reports to the Assistant Controller and focuses on monthly/quarterly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple entities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in insurance and a strong understanding of GAAP, Excel, and modern finance tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Workday experience a plus.
• Experience using AI tools to improve financial processes.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy per policies.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support external audits and internal controls development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects.
• Mentor Staff Accountant.
