Job summary

Ledgebrook Insurance, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team and report to the Assistant Controller. You will own key components of the monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple entities, while leveraging AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, specializing in premium recognition, claims and reserves.
• Familiarity with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Excel. Workday experience is a plus.
• Experience using AI tools to improve or automate financial processes.
• Experience implementing or improving finance systems or processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Mentor and supervise Staff Accountant.
• Assist with documentation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures.
• Leverage modern finance tools and AI-based solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting insights.
• Assist in identifying process improvements and automation of accounting workflows.
• Support external audit processes and preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the company’s internal controlenvironment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support ad hoc projects and new business initiatives.
