The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting foundation, 5+ years of experience, and a track record in close processes. Proficiency with data analytics and finance systems like Workday, TM1, or OneStream is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• CPA or other recognized accounting qualification, or active pursuit of one, is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting, or a related field.
• Experience in a property and casualty insurance organization is preferred.
• Current or recent public company financial reporting experience is a plus.
• Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, data analytics, or process automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own balance sheet quarterly close activities and lead balance sheet review meetings.
• Prepare flux analyses of balance sheet and cash flow statements and provide insights into trends.
• Monitor balance sheet activity, including accruals, and follow up on unusual activity or risk areas.
• Perform premium receivable aging analyses by business division and calculate CECL reserves as per policy.
• Calculate excess and deferred ceding commissions.
• Support income statement close activities with Corporate Finance team.
• Maintain quarterly close calendars with BU Finance, IT, and Actuarial.
• Research accounting literature to support adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
• Maintain internal controls awareness and respond to ad hoc reporting requests.
• Develop partnerships with BU finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
