Job summary

Kinsale Insurance, a leading E&S insurer based in Richmond, VA, seeks a Senior Accountant to drive the close process and support statutory reporting. You will work with finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes, including AI-driven workflows, while handling insurance and reinsurance accounting tasks.

The role requires a accounting background, 2–4 years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a finance-related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• SOX experience preferred.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the close process with monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for insurance/reinsurance and intercompany activity.
• Assist with ERP system administration and general-ledger maintenance.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including AI-driven workflows.
• Assist with reinsurance accounting and related reporting.
• Prepare internal controls and reporting packages for assigned areas.
• Record and report pertinent tax filings and payments.
• Contribute to quarterly statutory reporting schedules.
• Participate in cross-departmental ad hoc analyses.
