Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the month-end close, reporting, and payroll accounting for defense contracting programs in Melbourne, FL. You will strengthen internal controls and automate processes to drive efficiencies.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years progressive accounting experience in defense contracting, with GAAP expertise and advanced Excel, plus familiarity with Costpoint. CPA or CPA candidacy is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in defense contracting.
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Identify and lead opportunities to automate workflows and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and other government contracting requirements.
• Support DCAA audits and other government compliance reviews.
• Document accounting workflows, desk procedures, and internal controls to support audit readiness and knowledge continuity.
• Prepare supporting documentation, schedules, and work papers for federal, state, local, and international tax filings, including payroll, sales and use, income, and other business tax returns, coordinating with external tax advisors and international tax teams as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations and assist with year-end tax reporting.
• Perform gross-to-net payroll reconciliations, ensuring payroll expenses, taxes, benefits, deductions, and accruals are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including wages, payroll taxes, benefits, and employee deductions.
• Prepare and review payroll journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
• Partner with Human Resources and Payroll to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
