Job summary

Intrepid Global Solutions seeks a Senior Accountant to manage the month-end close, financial reporting, and tax compliance for government contracting programs. You will ensure GAAP and government regulations are met, with a focus on control documentation and process improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of accounting experience in defense or related industries, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Costpoint. CPA is a plus; strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5–7 years progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in defense contracting.
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and government contracting requirements.
• Support DCAA audits and other government compliance reviews.
• Document accounting workflows and internal controls to support audit readiness.
• Prepare tax filings documentation and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and ensure accurate payroll postings.
• Collaborate with HR and Payroll to resolve payroll discrepancies.
