Job summary

Panthalassa is seeking a hands-on accounting operator to own day-to-day workflows and ensure clean, auditable books at scale in NetSuite. This role goes beyond basic AP processing, partnering with finance, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, vendors, and external accounting partners.

You will manage onboarding, invoicing, coding, and payments, while leveraging AI tools to streamline processes without sacrificing accuracy or judgment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge (U.S.).
• Experience with accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and month-end close.
• Ability to translate business context into repeatable accounting rules.
• Tech-forward, using AI and automation while maintaining controls.
• Excellent communication with internal stakeholders and vendors.
• Proficient in NetSuite and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own and support core accounting operations incl. AP, procure-to-pay, and month-end close.
• Manage vendor onboarding, records, invoices, billing, approvals, payments.
• Maintain NetSuite data accuracy and documentation.
• Code invoices by department, project, vendor, and spend category.
• Assist with spend tagging and budgeting visibility.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate purchases into repeatable rules.
• Support timely month-end close with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals.
• Identify manual workflows and propose automation and ERP improvements.
• Support payment operations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with audit, tax, compliance, and reporting needs.
• Partner with leadership and external accountants on controls and close tasks.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, ownership.
