Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing technology company in Dallas, Texas. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate variances.
- Support preparation of internal financial reports for management.
- Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and other key accounts.
- Assist with revenue recognition, expense allocations, and intercompany transactions as applicable.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, operations, payroll, and accounts payable to resolve accounting issues.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability as the company grows.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including public accounting and/or industry experience within a technology company.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close procedures.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- Experience in the technology or SaaS industry.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition and subscription-based business models.
- Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP platforms.
- Prior experience supporting audits and improving accounting processes.
