Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who can sell testing programs and also perform engineering duties. The role balances business development with technical workload, and the company handles the laboratory, field staff, and quality system while you bring relationships and the stamp.

You will develop a client book for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services, scope/price proposals, and serve as engineer of record on the projects you win,

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the state of posting or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Proven or credible plan to bring in work in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services; scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters; direct technicians and inspectors on your projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
