Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who comfortably pitch testing programs to contractors while reviewing compaction and geotechnical reporting.

You will manage a book of clients, scope and price proposals, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win, coordinating with the lab and field staff and representing the company at owner and industry meetings in your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the state of posting, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a clear plan for acquiring it in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
