Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable both in a contractor's office pitching a testing program and in the field reviewing data and sealing reports. You carry a business development target and a technical workload, maintaining client relationships while your compensation follows revenue you bring in.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiation, and rejecting bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
