Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support Self-Perform Work (SPW) on complex project delivery. You will collaborate with SPW crews, project management teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to meet scope, schedules and quality.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, with 2–4 years of construction engineering experience and OSHA 30 certification (or completion within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 2–4 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or a related field required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project and crew requirements.
• Collaborates with SPW project managers, superintendents, and project teams to resolve standard technical questions related to self-perform scopes of work.
• Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances to support timely corrective actions for self-perform operations based on established guidelines.
• Supports the implementation of standard SPW-specific quality assurance and safety protocols throughout all phases of self-perform work.
• Prepares and maintains detailed SPW project documentation, including daily SPW crew reports, time and material logs, equipment usage records, and field change documentation.
• Identifies opportunities for incremental improvements in SPW processes and contributes to the development of leading practices with guidance.
• Actively participates in SPW coordination meetings and communicates field progress, production rates, and any issues to SPW crews, project managers, and other stakeholders.
