Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Construction Engineer with a focus on Self-Perform Work (SPW) to support successful project delivery in New York. You will collaborate with SPW crews, project managers and subcontractors to meet scope requirements, schedules and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–4 years of construction engineering experience, with OSHA 30 preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project and crew requirements.
Collaborates with SPW project managers, superintendents, and project teams to resolve standard technical questions related to self-perform scopes of work.
Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances to support timely corrective actions for self-perform operations based on established guidelines.
Supports the implementation of standard SPW-specific quality assurance and safety protocols throughout all phases of self-perform work.
Prepares and maintains detailed SPW project documentation, including daily SPW crew reports, time and material logs, equipment usage records, and field change documentation.
Identifies opportunities for incremental improvements in SPW processes and contributes to the development of leading practices with guidance.
Actively participates in SPW coordination meetings and communicates field progress, production rates, and any issues to SPW crews, project managers, and other stakeholders.
