Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Construction Engineer to support Self‑Perform Work (SPW) construction projects in the United States. You will apply knowledge of SPW activities, collaborate with SPW crews and project teams, and help ensure scope requirements, production schedules, and quality standards are met.

The role focuses on monitoring crew productivity, tracking material usage, and identifying and solving routine and non‑routine project issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or related field is required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification is preferred; OSHA 30 completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project and crew requirements.
• Collaborates with SPW project managers, superintendents, and project teams to resolve standard technical questions related to self‑perform scopes of work.
• Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances to support timely corrective actions for self‑perform operations based on established guidelines.
• Supports the implementation of standard SPW‑specific quality assurance and safety protocols throughout all phases of self‑perform work.
• Prepares and maintains detailed SPW project documentation, including daily SPW crew reports, time and material logs, equipment usage records, and field change documentation.
• Identifies opportunities for incremental improvements in SPW processes and contributes to the development of leading practices with guidance.
• Actively participates in SPW coordination meetings and communicates field progress, production rates, and any issues to SPW crews, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
