Job summary

DPR Construction in Reston, VA seeks a Self-Perform Work (SPW) Construction Engineer to support successful SPW project delivery. You will work with SPW crews, project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure scope, schedules, and quality meet targets.

Preferred 2–4 years of construction engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. OSHA 30 certification is preferred; completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in construction engineering or a related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specs, and submittals for SPW scopes.
• Collaborates with SPW managers and crews to resolve standard technical questions.
• Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, reports variances for corrective actions.
• Supports SPW quality assurance and safety protocols across all phases.
• Prepares SPW project documentation: daily crew reports, logs, and field change records.
• Identifies opportunities for SPW process improvements with guidance.
• Participates in SPW coordination meetings, communicates progress and issues.
