Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a SPW Project Engineer to support Self-Perform Work on construction projects, applying knowledge of SPW activities and leading practices. The role collaborates with SPW crews, project management teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure scope, schedules, and quality are met.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in construction engineering, a related bachelor’s degree, and OSHA 30 experience or training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or a related field required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred. OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project and crew requirements.
• Collaborates with SPW project managers, superintendents, and project teams to resolve standard technical questions related to self-perform scopes of work.
• Monitors SPW activity schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances to support timely corrective actions for self-perform operations based on established guidelines.
• Supports the implementation of standard SPW-specific quality assurance and safety protocols throughout all phases of self-perform work.
• Prepares and maintains detailed SPW project documentation, including daily SPW crew reports, time and material logs, equipment usage records, and field change documentation.
• Identifies opportunities for incremental improvements in SPW processes and contributes to the development of leading practices with guidance.
• Actively participates in SPW coordination meetings and communicates field progress, production rates, and any issues to SPW crews, project managers, and other stakeholders.
