Job summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and test electronic security systems including burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, and access control in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

The role requires installing and wiring devices, testing systems, programming alarms, and explaining operation to customers, while completing paperwork and coordinating with Central Monitoring Station and project supervisors. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
• Must obtain licenses/certifications to work in security per state rules.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Strong math skills including area, volume, percentages.
• Knowledge of fire and electrical codes for safe installations.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire specified alarm system devices.
• Test and verify that all installed systems and devices function correctly per manufacturer specs.
• Use multimeters for volts and ohm readings and circuit analysis.
• Program alarm systems via programmer or keypad.
• Explain and demonstrate how the alarm system works to customers.
• Complete proper paperwork and submit to appropriate department daily.
• Communicate with clients, coworkers and Central Monitoring Station.
• All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
