Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician in North Charleston, SC. You will install, program, startup, certify, and train customers on security and life safety systems across projects of varying complexity. The role emphasizes customer service, technical proficiency, and collaboration with project teams.

You will read and interpret schematics, perform tests, and ensure system performance. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years relevant field service experience preferred.
• Experience with fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to job sites; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine security and life safety systems.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine installation procedures.
• Operate and commission systems; provide customer training and documentation.
• Collaborate with Project/Operations Managers and engineering for problem resolution and scope changes.
• Mentor less experienced staff and support continuous improvement.
